Chrysalis, a nonprofit supporting mental health and substance use recovery, has moved to a new location on Atwood Avenue, the Cap Times reported.

This will be the first building the nonprofit owns since it began in 1980, and the new location has an industry-grade kitchen left by Bunky’s, a catering business that left the space in 2023.

The kitchen means Chrysalis can prepare about three times the amount of meals for residents in substance use recovery.

“With this space, we’re able to integrate everything into one Chrysalis community,” executive director Dani Rischall told the Cap Times.

The kitchen, and Chrysalis’s popsicle business, will allow members to develop food service skills for future work opportunities.
