Safe Communities Madison-Dane County hosted the ninth annual BeSafe Awards on Oct. 15 to recognize those who have made a significant contribution to our community’s safety. Also celebrated was our redesignation as an accredited Safe Community, as part of an international network of Safe Communities organizations that meets the highest standards of injury prevention programming.
The 2015 BeSafe Awards honorees are:
Leadership: Deputy Randy Wiessinger (Ret.) – Dane Co. Sheriff’s Office
Collaboration: Pamela Bracey – North/East Side Senior Coalition
Advocacy (Individual): Scott Stokes, AIDS Resource Center of WI
Advocacy (Organization): National Alliance on Mental Illness-Dane County (NAMI)
Innovation: Thad Schumacher, Hometown Pharmacy
