A Spring Green shop is shuttering after 108 years of operation and four generations in the Marcus family, according to WMTV15. Nina’s Department Store has seen various names and concepts over the decades but has remained a local small business.

The store was opened by current owner Joel Marcus’ great-grandfather, who emigrated from Russia and bought the business in 1916. The spot served as a convenience store through the Great Depression and evolved into a variety store catering to locals and tourists.
