Lindy Elkins-Tanton, director of the Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California-Berkeley and the principal investigator of the NASA Psyche space mission, will be the keynote speaker at the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce’s 73rd annual dinner.
The dinner will be held on Oct. 8 at the Monona Terrace. Nearly 1,300 business and community leaders are expected to attend.
They will enjoy networking, dinner and the keynote address by Elkins-Tanton.
As principal investigator of the NASA Psyche space mission, she leads an eight-year, $1.2 billion mission to study an asteroid more than 200 million miles from Earth.
She is also the author of two books: “Mission Ready: How to Build Teams That Perform Under Pressure” and “A Portrait of the Scientist as a Young Woman.”
Elkins-Tanton received her Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science and doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
