Since we’re a relatively small but productive and efficient B2B publication, it is very important for us to hear from our readers throughout the year on a variety of topics. While we’ve always taken much pride in having a full-time editorial staff that is entrenched in this local business market, it goes without saying that it is impossible for us to be everywhere.
With this in mind, we ask for your assistance in nominating people for our list of the “Most Influential People in Greater Madison.” Once again, IB’s editorial team is compiling its own list of deserving candidates who could make our final cut. However, this is one of the most challenging features that we publish each year, as there are so many individuals who spread their influence in an under-the-radar fashion.
If you know of an individual who is making a big impact in the Greater Madison community, we’d like to hear about it. This impact could be felt through a business, a nonprofit, or a government agency, but we want influence that is local and recent (within the past year). This is one IB designation open to influencers in any capacity. Titles do not matter.
Please send any nominations to IB Editorial Director Joe Vanden Plas at joe@ibmadison.com no later than April 21. Tell us the name of the individual that you’d like to nominate, and give specific details on the influence (i.e., results) this individual has had during the past year.
Each year there seem to be at least a handful of people who are fairly obvious picks for this recognition, but there are many people making a huge impact without a spotlight. We hope you flood Joe’s inbox over the next few weeks with your nominations. Keep in mind that not all influence is going to be viewed positively by all of our readers, so don’t be afraid to nominate someone whose impact may be more controversial or may not be seen in a positive light by everyone. Influence goes both ways.
IB always encourages readers to forward business and industry story ideas that are important to business operators, and the Most Influential feature is no different. We cover many different industries, and we rely on local experts to keep us up-to-date with relevant business information. Some of our better Most Influential selections haven’t exactly been publicity seekers, so email Joe Vanden Plas and make the case for your under-the-radar nominee(s).
