Citing a challenging advertising market, E.W. Scripps Company, which owns TMJ4 in Milwaukee, laid off more than a dozen employees at the Milwaukee television station on Oct. 27, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

None of the positions included the station’s 33 on air employees, but the layoffs affected positions such as producers and video journalists.

Adam Symson, president and CEO of E.W. Scripps, had signaled job cuts when announcing the company’s second quarter results in August. The company reported a loss of $1.2 billion, or $12.68 per share, even though its revenue was $490 million for the quarter.

At that time, he said the company was eliminating 268 jobs across the company, affecting 6% of its overall workforce.
