About 77 jobs will be lost with the expected closing of Milwaukee’s Maynard Steel Casting plant, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The closing of the facility, located at 2856 S. 27th St., was announced Monday.

The company, which makes low-carbon steel castings for aerospace and other industries, has been in receivership since May.
Filings from the company with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development said employee layoffs will occur around Dec. 4.

The company, founded in 1907 in Milwaukee, employed as many as 700 workers in the 1960s.
