Maurer’s Urban Market has officially opened at 801 Cedar St. in Madison, with several unique services for local shoppers.
The store, which held its grand opening on Oct. 10, offers shoppers Caper Carts, home delivery and in-house prepared meals and grab-and-go options.
Caper Carts are self-checkout-enabled carts that allow customers to see a running total as they shop and check out from the cart.
Maurer’s is an independent, woman- owned and run grocery. The commercial space where it operates is owned by the city of Madison, which supported the project’s development with other partners.
“Maurer’s Urban Market has been thoughtfully designed around the way people shop and eat today,” said Kristie Maurer, owner of Maurer’s Urban Market, in a statement. “Whether you’re picking up dinner for tonight, shopping for the week or discovering something new from a local producer, we want every visit to feel easy, fresh and enjoyable.”
