Getting hitched can already be an expensive endeavor, and thanks to the Dane Country Board, it will get a bit pricier.

The increase is the first one in over a decade, according to the Cap Times, with fees that will rise by $30 to $150.

The Dane County Board approved an ordinance amendment to raise the price on Thursday.

The reason given for the increase is Dane County’s $15 million deficit it faces next year. The board also said that due to inflation, the price should have risen to $175.
