After nearly 1,300 people weighed in, an abstract steel sculpture called Luminous Shift was chosen as the public’s top choice in the LakeWay public art survey, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

“Luminous Shift,” which features built-in seating and lighting with a reflective surface, was submitted by Vancouver artist Jill Anhold of Jill Anholt Studios. It was the top choice of 38% of the 1,260 survey respondents.

The LakeWay selection committee has yet to make a recommendation to the Madison City Council for its top pick.

Of the remaining survey entries, Aurea by SpY Studios came in second with 25% of the vote, Voices of the Lake by Choi+Shine was third with just under 21% and Horizon by This is Loop was fourth at 16%.
