The Rotary Club of Madison West Middleton said Tuesday that it’s leading a collaborative effort to create an inclusive, accessible baseball field where children and individuals with disabilities can play baseball.
Rotary Club of Madison West Middleton is collaborating with Rotary clubs throughout Dane County, the Verona Area School District and Miracle League of Dane County on the project.
The Verona Area School District is providing a site for the proposed field at Sugar Creek Elementary School.
To advance the project, an agreement between Rotary and the school district establishes the Rotary Clubs of Dane County Foundation.
A capital campaign called “Step Up to the Plate” will support the foundation’s efforts.
“This project represents exactly what Rotary can accomplish when we bring people together around a shared purpose,” Campaign Chair Kevin Hayden said in a press release.
