More than 800 winter warriors plunged into icy water to raise funds for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes during the Madison Polar Plunge on Feb. 17. In total, $335,000 was raised during the Madison event this year. In addition to Madison, the Polar Plunge takes place at 11 locations across Wisconsin in 2018. Donations provide year-round programming in sports, health, education, and community building to change the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Last year, 1,200 participants took the Polar Plunge in Madison and raised more than $340,000 for local athletes. Special Olympics Wisconsin partners with Kwik Trip, Walgreens, and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
