Tenney Beach, Warner Beach and Esther Beach now have permanent accessible beach pathways.
These permanent pathways and seasonal beach matting, typically non-slip mats placed over sand, provide full access from beach shelters to the water’s edge.
The Madison Parks Foundation was able to turn the pathways into a reality thanks to donors.
This project is part of MPF’s broader Parks for All campaign. The campaign is a $10 million initiative to ensure sustainability and accessibility across all 297 parks in Madison’s park system.
“This is what the Parks for All campaign is all about — working together to make our parks welcoming and enjoyable for all. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this project to our beautiful beaches, and we are deeply grateful to our donors who help make projects like these possible,” Stephanie Franklin, Madison Parks Foundation president and executive director, said in a statement.
