The Madison Plan Commission recommended a purchase of east side lots that could potentially be used for housing and park development last week, the Cap Times reported.

The Plan Commission gave the go-ahead to approve $4 million in tax increment financing for the purchase of 17 lots near Pinney Library along Cottage Grove Road.

The purchase could be finalized in July. A final approval of amendments to Tax Increment District 44 would need to happen.

The development under construction is known as Royster Corners.
