The Madison City Council voted on Tuesday to approve a $2.8 million Jobs TIF loan for Realta Fusion to move into the vacant Oscar Meyer property at 2099 Roth St. on Madison’s northeast side.

According to a Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce email, Realta Fusion, which is working to create fusion reactors, would redevelop over 200,000 square feet into an office with research and development and manufacturing space.

“The Chamber lobbied in support of this effort to grow the tax base, create and retain family-supporting jobs and, importantly, bring new life to a prominently vacant site, combining Wisconsin’s strong manufacturing excellence with cutting-edge science to solve global challenges,” the chamber said in a statement.
