The companies, people and issues shaping business in Madison and the Capital Region.

On Feb. 29, Madison Public Library Foundation hosted Love the Library: A Benefit for the New Pinney Library at the newly finished library, 516 Cottage Grove Road. The gala featured catering by east side businesses, including Bunky’s Café, Buck and Honey’s, and Ian’s Pizza. Local musicians Angela Puerta & Carlos Ramos, Leotha Stanley & Friends, and Lynda & the ZEROs performed throughout the evening. Pinney Library staff led tours of the new 22,000-square-foot space. More than 380 guests attended the event, which raised more than $92,000 for the library’s capital campaign and endowment. The library also hosted a public ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 12 that included remarks by city officials, project engineers, and library and foundation leadership. Approximately 1,200 people visited the library that day. (For information on getting your event featured in the IB Gallery, email jason@ibmadison.com.)
