From the pages of In Business magazine.
It’s that time of year for me to make my annual call-out reminder regarding IB’s Women of Industry awards, coming to the pages of In Business magazine (and an awards program) this November.
This will be our third installment of this program, and it has very quickly become one of our real highlights as we recognize regional businesswomen who are forward-thinking pioneers in their respective fields.
In the first two years of this program, we’ve had the privilege of honoring some truly inspiring women who have influenced the industries that they serve. We’ve had everything from an advocate for people with mental illness, to a local retail specialty shop mogul, and even a remarkable story of a college student (since graduated) who started a prescription drug collection program to help keep medications from making their way down the drain and into our groundwater system.
The fact of the matter is that nominations for this awards program are open to women of all industries, all ages, and all business titles.
Now is the time to nominate women who work in the South Central Wisconsin region — Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock, and Sauk counties — who have had significant industry impact on either the local, regional, national, or global level. We aren’t looking for accomplishments at their own business (we have other award programs for this); instead, we are looking for forward-thinking women who are pioneers in the industries they work in, perhaps even setting new standards within these industries.
This year, we will accept both self-nominations, as well as referred nominations. If you would like to nominate another person for this awards program, please email Jessica Hamm at jessica@ibmadison.com with their name and contact information (so that we can reach them for further information). Please provide as much detailed information as possible about their impact within the industry they serve. If you’re nominating yourself, which we encourage, the application can be found at www.IBMadison.com/womenofindustry.
Nominations are being accepted through August 15, so please act fast! There are countless inspirational women in this region who impact their industries each and every day. Help us tell their stories!
