The Literacy Network of Dane County hosted a grand opening celebration Oct. 26 at its new learning center located at 701 Dane St. on Madison’s south side. The standing room-only event featured several surprise announcements, including one from Madison College President Jack Daniels III about a new partnership to improve literacy skills in students studying at the college before they head into the workforce as well as a $250,000 matching donation challenge issued by a large group of donors for end-of-the-year and holiday giving.
