President Donald Trump nominated Kevin Warsh to be the next Federal Reserve chair, according to a CNN report.

The announcement came Friday, ending a search to replace current Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell that began in September.

Trump has been critical of Powell for months, unhappy with him for not lowering interest rates more quickly.

His administration also launched a much criticized criminal investigation of Powell and the Federal Reserve earlier this month.

The Senate Banking Committee will have to vote to appoint Warsh.
