In what is an admittedly difficult decision, Jamie Bugel says she will wrap up her 5-year tenure as manager of the popular Dane County Farmers’ Market by week’s end, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Bugel, who has a three-year-old daughter, told the publication that working the market, which is already looking for her successor, has become more challenging when it comes to work-life balance.
The market has expanded from its Saturday hours to include a mid-week market, a Holiday Market at Monona Terrace and a Late Winter market at Garver Feed Mill.
Co-interim managers Rachel Figueroa and Hannah Henriksen will run the market until a permanent manager is found.
The application deadline is Sept. 7. The position has a pay range of between $70,000 and $75,000 per year.
