Madison Public Market announced Wednesday that Isthmus Yarns, a yarn boutique inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, is the market’s newest merchant.
Founder Sarah Dawson offers ecologically friendly yarns, knitting and crochet tools and project accessories, as well as Scandinavian yarns like Knitting for Olive and hand-dyed skeins from local Madison-area artisans like Sun Valley Fibers.
“Madison’s east side has been without a yarn store for over two years. Isthmus Yarns was created to fill that void while putting the values so many Madisonians have first,” Dawson said in a statement. “Whether you’re knitting your first sweater or your fiftieth, we want people to feel inspired, supported and excited about making something they’ll love with materials that are gentle on the Earth.”
Classes and community outreach will also be a focus of the store in the coming months.
