While no formal proposals have been made, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that Woodman’s supermarket has approached the village of Grafton about developing a 34-acre property along Interstate 43.

Gabe Gilbertson, community development director for Grafton, said the Ozaukee County village has heard from Woodman’s about its interest in the land, which is situated between North Port Washington Road and I-43.

The land is currently owned by the Tillmann Family Trust.

Since it lies in the town of Grafton, an application for annexation would be part of any development proposal.

Woodman’s, an employee owned grocery chain, has 14 stores in Wisconsin and six in Illinois.
