The U.S. announced Tuesday it revoked authorization of Iranian oil sales, CNBC reported. This comes after attacks on ships that use the U.S.-Navy-protected route in the Strait of Hormuz.
“Iran will only reap benefits if they exhibit good behavior,” a U.S. official told CNBC. “Iran’s actions in the Strait were wholly unacceptable to the United States and will be met with consequences.”
The U.S. and Iran had reached an interim ceasefire last month and have announced an end to the war more than once. The agreements have failed to take hold permanently.
