Four local healthcare workers were honored with a Healthcare Hero Award on Thursday during In Business Madison’s annual Healthcare Summit held at the Inn on the Park.
The four were among six finalists for the award, which recognizes exemplary work by local nurses, physicians and other workers in the healthcare industry over the past year.
The four award recipients are:
- Sue Schneider, an assisted living clinical trainer at Oakwood Village, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community
- Dr. Kathryn Ledford, a family physician and associate medical director of informatics and population health at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin
- Shoua Lee, supervisor of clubhouse programs at Chrysalis, a Madison mental health and substance abuse disorder treatment facility
- Rebekah Morano, a music therapist with Oakwood Village.
The two finalists who were also recognized are:
- Gil Roth, a behavioral health provider at Associated Physicians in Madison, who was selected as a Healthcare Hero last year
- Shannon Hoffman, who was nominated after just one year in her current role at Oakwood Village.
The Healthcare Summit program also included two panel discussions, one focused on AI in healthcare, and the other panel centered on the health tech startup ecosystem in Wisconsin’s Capital Region.
