A multiyear project to widen Interstate 94 on Milwaukee’s west side could take another two years to complete because of significant utility relocations, according to an Aug. 12 article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
A Wisconsin Department of Transportation report to the state’s Transportation Projects Commission attributed the likely delay to significant utility relocations along the corridor, affecting work zones and through-traffic.
The delay would result in cost overruns on a project that already has an eight-year construction schedule.
