A major bipartisan housing bill will become law late Friday whether President Donald Trump signs it or not, though he could also veto it, the New York Times reported.

The bill has been considered a huge deal as it is the first time in over 30 years the federal government has made a move to help with the nation’s housing crisis.

The 21st Century Road to Housing Act would be the most significant housing bill in over three decades, making housing more affordable by lowering housing costs and making it cheaper to construct new homes.

Some of the ways it would do that are by reducing federal regulations and incentivizing development at the local level.
