Wisconsin residents who are opposed to large data center development will hold a rally Wednesday night calling for an end to Wisconsin’s sales-tax exemption for hyperscale data center companies.
Members of GROWW — GrassRoots Organizing Western Wisconsin — will hold a “No Blank Checks for Big Tech” rally, including a 6 p.m. press conference, at Veterans Park in downtown River Falls.
The organization estimates the sales-tax exemption will give operators of hyperscale data centers more than $2 billion in tax relief without protecting Wisconsin communities in return.
