Gorman & Company will join community leaders, residents and project partners Thursday to celebrate forthcoming new and remodeled affordable housing developments in Baraboo.

The Fordham Place groundbreaking and Corson Square revitalization event will take place at 10:30 a.m. at 920 10th St. in Baraboo.

Fordham Place will bring 56 new affordable apartment homes to the neighborhood, including 18 one-bedroom, 26 two-bedroom, and 12 three-bedroom apartments. These housing units will serve households earning between 30% and 60% of the area median income.

Adjacent to the Fordham Place development is Corson Square, a 40-unit affordable housing community owned by the Baraboo Community Development Authority that is undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation.

The revitalization includes improvements to apartment interiors, building systems, accessibility features and community spaces. The revamp will keep affordable housing available for current and future residents. The community consists of 35 one-bedroom and five two-bedroom apartment homes that will be modernized to support its long-term sustainability.

“Communities like Baraboo continue to see strong demand for affordable housing, especially for working families, seniors and individuals who want to remain close to jobs, schools and services,” Ted Matkom, market president at Gorman & Company, said in a statement.

“Corson Square has been an important part of this community for years, and this revitalization ensures it can continue serving residents for decades to come. At the same time, Fordham Place expands the affordable housing options available in Baraboo. Bringing these two efforts together creates a stronger foundation for the community and for the people who call it home.”
