Limbach Holdings Inc., a building systems firm based in Tampa, Florida, has acquired Madison’s 1901 Inc., a 125-year-old MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing services) contractor, for $63 million.
In a press release, Limbach said the acquisition increases its scale in the Midwest while adding to its mechanical, plumbing and fabrication capabilities.
Limbach employs 2,100 people across 23 offices in the eastern and Midwestern regions of the U.S.
The company also said the acquisition will strengthen its ability to serve healthcare, higher education, industrial and cultural facilities.
Limbach, which was also founded in 1901, said it anticipates that 1901 Inc. will add approximately $140 million in revenue in 2027.
“1901 is an exceptional fit with Limbach’s strategy and represents another important step in scaling our building systems solutions platform,” Michael McCann, president and CEO of Limbach, said in a press release. “Both companies were founded in 1901 and share a long history of technical expertise, strong customer relationships and a commitment to quality.”
