The First Business Bank Charity Golf Invitational, held annually in Madison since 2011, has raised more than $300,000 for nonprofit organizations. The event features two-person teams of local business leaders competing for the charity of their choice. First Business Bank covers all event costs, allowing 100 percent of donations to go to the winning charities. Held Sept. 18 at Hawk’s Landing Golf Course, the event donated $46,500 to five organizations. First place and $20,000 went to Dane County Humane Society, played for by the team of Jay Hazen of Dentistry of Madison and John Leja of LZ Management LLC. Second place and $10,000 went to Impact Seven, played for by the team of Ted Matkom of Gorman & Co. and Tom Patzman of Impact Seven. Middleton Outreach Ministry won $8,000 in third place, played for by the team of John Maasch and Johnny Maasch of Veridian Homes. Fourth place and $5,000 went to Garding Against Cancer, played for by the team of Tim Cleary of Ideal Builders and Jeff Beckman of J&K Security Solutions.
