Six film projects, including a new documentary about the late Bob Uecker, are among the inaugural group of projects that have been awarded a total of $1 million through the state’s new film tax credit program.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Gov. Tony Evers and Film Wisconsin, the state’s newly re-established film office.

The six projects include feature films, documentaries and a short film that showcase Wisconsin stories and bolster the state’s tourism industry.

Among them are “Ueck,” a documentary about the life of Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker, who passed away in 2025, and films about former Brewers owner and baseball commissioner Bud Selig and former Green Bay Packer Don Bebe.

Other awardees include “Rao,” an independent feature film from Wisconsin filmmaker Sagar Brahmbhatt that follows an Indian American family’s journey, and “The Warehouse,” a documentary from OmaChance Productions that depicts a group working to complete legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s last remaining unfinished building.

“These tax credits will not only help create jobs and support local businesses, but they work to support the projects that tell stories that focus on the people and places that make our state extraordinary,” Gov. Tony Evers said in a press release. “I look forward to seeing these incredible works come to life and many others like them in the years ahead.”
