Stella’s Bakery will open a brick-and-mortar spot on Regent Street in Madison, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
The new bakery, cafe and outdoor patio will offer the business’ well-known Hot & Spicy Cheese Bread, a longtime staple at the Dane County Farmers’ Market.
Owners Jennifer and Patrick Patrello plan to open the bakery at 1219 Regent St. by mid-October in the space next to Indie Coffee. The new spot will replace Stella’s retail location at 2908 Syene Road, which Jennifer Patrello said does not get sufficient foot traffic.
The 5,000-square-foot facility on Syene Road will operate as a second production kitchen, but member businesses of the Dane County Farmers’ Market can only have one retail location.
Stella’s typically sells around 2,500 loaves of Hot & Spicy Cheese Bread over the course of a Saturday Farmers’ Market.
