While FIFA has its own ticket reselling platform, many World Cup fans have used places like StubHub to purchase tickets from other fans, only to find them to not have been real or actually available, the Associated Press reported.
In the report, many fans describe purchasing tickets off of StubHub, only to find the original seller never had them to begin with, or there was an issue with transferring them to the buyer. This usually leaves them to be credited or refunded, but without tickets.
StubHub has become a popular way to buy these resale tickets as it has been cheaper, as FIFA charges 15% on top of resold tickets to buyers and sellers.
