Epic Systems Wednesday issued a statement contradicting a Modern Healthcare article suggesting the Verona-based electronic health records company has paused most of its technology development “while it ensures its systems are secure and not vulnerable to cyberattacks.”
Epic said CEO Judy Faulkner attended the Modern Healthcare Leadership Summit Tuesday, and Modern Healthcare wrote the article after her panel discussion.
The headline of the article was “Epic pauses product development to focus on cybersecurity.”
In response, an Epic spokesperson issued the following statement:
“Our development roadmap hasn’t changed since we presented it at our August 2026 Users Group Meeting,” the statement read.
“We’re participating in Project Glasswing (for critical software security) and using AI tools to stay ahead of cybersecurity threats that are growing across all industries.
“We’re also continuing rapid progress in many areas: expanded AI capabilities, Agent Factory, EpicOps, interoperability to speed up prior authorization and more.”
