Residential buildings and retail would replace about 31 acres of farmland under a development proposal by JD McCormick Properties, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.
The proposed Hawks Nest subdivision, including mixed-use and multifamily buildings, would be built near the Hawks Landing development at the northeast corner of Mid Town and South Pleasant View roads.
The city Plan Commission voted to advance the plans earlier this week after local residents raised concerns about issues such as traffic and the preservation of trees.
The development proposal, which will require additional city approvals, calls for site work to begin with infrastructure improvements in 2027.
