The first annual Designer Rummage Sale to benefit Design for a Difference-Madison was held on Saturday, June 23 at FLOOR360 and raised $4,500. The Designer Rummage Sale was organized by Alexandra Wood, who collected donations of household items from local interior designers, priced the items, and displayed them for sale. The types of items sold included wicker patio furniture, coffee tables, lamps, wall art, pottery, throw pillows, area rugs, glasses, bed comforters, and more. All the money raised will go toward buying supplies for the free interior makeover of the East Madison Community Center this October. The makeover is planned and executed by an all-volunteer design team made up of 40 local interior design professionals. Design for a Difference is national community-driven initiative that brings together high-fashion flooring showrooms and designers to makeover much needed spaces inside local charities, and is sponsored by locally by FLOOR360.
