With the Milwaukee Brewers advancing to their first World Series in 44 years, it should come as no surprise that Brewers fans have set a new record for purchasing team merchandise.
According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brewers fans have set a new Major League Baseball record for purchasing National League Champion locker room T-shirts.
In a two-day period after winning the National League pennant by sweeping the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers, Brewers sales outpaced the previous benchmark set by the 2022 Philadelphia Phillies by about 5%.
They also outsold the historic 2016 NLCS Champion Chicago Cubs by more than 14%, the 2024 Dodgers by nearly 60% and last year’s Dodgers by more than 100%, according to MLB.
The high demand has created inventory challenges for the team and its retail partners, and more inventory challenges could be on the horizon.
With their convincing 10-1 victory in Game 3 of the World Series Monday, the Brewers are just one win away from the first World Series title in their 56-year history.
