DeForest School Board OKs pay raises for various employment groups

The DeForest School Board recently approved a 2026-27 collective bargaining agreement between the district and the DeForest Area Education Association that establishes a 0% base wage increase, the Star reports.

A 2.63% supplemental pay boost for teachers and specialists for each cell on the salary frameworks was passed by the board at its June 8 meeting, however, amounting to $691,990.

The percentage increase is tied to the Consumer Price Index, according to Nathan Jaeger, the district’s director of human resources, and also keeps DeForest in line with nearby districts. Jaeger said the district’s goal is to stay within 5% of its peers across Dane County.

DeForest provides for progression through salary frameworks for auto and professional development movement as well.

The board also passed compensation increases for various employee groups at its meeting, among these a 2.63% wage schedule hike for support staff totaling $223,534.
