Lal Chakraborty is the new owner of Craig’s Cake Shop at 604 W Verona Ave., Verona.
He has been learning the ropes of the bakery for the past few weeks and said in a social media statement that he knows a change of ownership can be difficult, but he is aiming to please.
“I know ownership changes can feel unsettling, especially for customers who already have wedding cakes or other special orders booked with us,” he said. “I want to reassure you that the same talented staff is still here, the same recipes are being used and the same process is continuing. Most importantly, we will honor all existing orders, deposits and commitments.”
Chakraborty has experience owning a business, as he owns Overt Space Gallery & Gifts in Stoughton. He has lived in Madison for 28 years, “and as a father of two daughters, I know how meaningful birthdays, weddings, graduations and family celebrations can be.”
