Data centers looking to enter Cottage Grove are going to have to wait 12 months after the village board passed a 12-month moratorium on new data center development on Monday, WMTV reported.

The board also said it intends to extend the moratorium another six months at a future meeting.

Madison and Dane County have already passed their own moratoriums on data centers in order to fully understand the effects of the facilities.
