Madison Common Council President Sabrina Madison has set up a working group to make recommendations on the Madison Police Department’s policies for use of deadly force, de-escalation and body-worn cameras.
Madison said in a press release posted on the city’s website that the work group is tasked with educating the City Council on the current state of MPD policies and procedures, providing the public with a forum for community feedback, and introducing legislation to implement their recommendations.
The work group is scheduled to submit its report and recommendations to the Council by March 30, 2027.
Madison will be joined in the work group by alders John Guequierre, Regina Vidaver, Badri Lankella and Tag Evers.
