The companies, people and issues shaping business in Madison and the Capital Region.

In partnership with business and economic development partners, the city of Madison will hold a Business Walk event on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

City officials plan to visit about 200-250 businesses on the north and near west sides of Madison.

The Business Walk, which features a half-day blitz by trained volunteers, is an economic development initiative that allows local leaders to get the pulse of how a business community is doing.

The format allows for 100-200 businesses to be reached in two to three hours.

Blueprint Events, a Madison business event planning service, is coordinating the walk for the city of Madison.

According to Blueprint, the information gathered is then used to help advocate for the business community and is also used by economic professionals to identify which businesses require further outreach.
