Wisconsin business and policy leaders will learn more about energy affordability in the era of hyperscale data centers when the Citizens Utility Board holds a Consumers Forum on Energy Affordability on Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel in Madison.

Speakers include Tremaine Phillips, senior advisor at PowerLines, a national group that is working to create awareness about the energy affordability challenge.

Phillips will be joined by Emma Heins, principal with Advanced Energy United; Brady Steigauf, community liaison manager at Focus on Energy; and CUB chief economist Steve Kihm and CUB utility analyst Jeff Adams.

“CUB is laser focused on uncovering and exposing unnecessary, unfair, and excessive energy costs being forced on consumers and small businesses everywhere in Wisconsin,” Frank Greb, president of the CUB board of directors, said in a press release.

“Given heightened attention on energy affordability, it’s time for those new to the issue to learn from our experts on what the drivers are, and what can be done,” Greb said.
