The Calumet County town of Brillion would be the site of two new natural gas powered power plants under plans submitted by Invenergy, a Chicago-based energy developer, according to an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The plants, which will be designed to produce a combined 1.95 gigawatts of power, would be able to provide electric power to 2 million homes.
Invenergy said a 750-megawatt plant would run continuously while a 1.2 gigawatt facility would serve as a “peaking” plant for use in periods of high demand.
