Charter Manufacturing Company Inc. will invest $5 million to expand its Mequon headquarters, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Charter, a 90-year-old metals manufacturing business, will add office and training space to bring its local employees under one roof.
The expansion will be supported by up to $200,000 in performance-based state income tax credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
The actual amount the fourth-generation, family-owned company will receive depends in part on the number of jobs created by the expansion.
The company, which employs about 2,500 people company-wide, expects the expansion to create 20 jobs.
