Cranberries are feeling the effects of President Donald Trump’s tariffs. Farmers across the state are struggling, and cranberry prices are lower this year.
According to Wisconsin Public Radio, this year’s yield should be average, or about 500 million pounds of berries, but the prices have dipped, along with other crops like soy and ginseng.
While tariffs are one major issue, increased temperatures due to climate change have also affected marshes negatively. Hot days can expose the berries to disease.
