A trial for first degree intentional homicide began Tuesday for Jakira Anderson, 24, who is accused of killing Middleton car salesman Kawsu Samba, according to WMTV15.
Veena Jallow, Samba’s wife, testified that on March 20, 2023, he did not come home from work, and his brother called saying Samba was in the hospital. Other witnesses for the prosecution included medical professionals, police, and lead Middleton detectives. Samba was reportedly found laying on the ground, unresponsive, with blood on his shirt.
Dane County Assistant District Attorney Annie Jay said in her opening statement that Anderson killed Samba out of unhappiness with a car he had sold her. Anderson’s defense attorney, Tracey Lencioni, stated that Anderson shot Samba out of fear for her own safety after an argument between them escalated.
A 25-minute video of MSI Auto’s security camera footage showed the moments before, during, and after the shooting.
