The River Food Pantry is approaching the construction campaign goal for its new home on Packers Avenue, WKOW reports. The new site will feature a building three times the size of the nonprofit’s current location, a drive-thru option for community members in need, classrooms and free clothes.

The Recipe for Hope Campaign has a $12 million goal that will fund $1 million for the land and title, $9 million for facility construction and $2 million for program support. As of this month, the nonprofit has raised over $11.9 million.

The expansion comes as the organization has experienced increased local demand for its services.
