The construction process for the city of Madison’s Imagination Center at Reindahl Park (ICRP) project is moving forward, with the construction contract awarded to Corporate Contractors Inc.
The ICRP will be Madison Public Library’s first new library in more than 25 years. It will be a multifunctional indoor-outdoor library and community space and the first-ever library facility located within a Madison park. It will offer people of all ages the opportunity to gather and learn, utilizing free Wi-Fi and public computers to access online resources for health, wellness, work, school and more.
The center is intended as a community hub for social interaction, civic engagement and cultural expression. It will be located off of East Washington Avenue at Portage Road and will help connect library and city services to the northeast side of Madison. The ICRP is expected to serve more than 19,000 people.
The ICRP collaboration involves four partners — Madison Public Library, city of Madison Engineering, Madison Parks and Madison Public Library Foundation.
The professional design consultant bid document work was prepared by JLA Architects, GRAEF, Saiki Design and InteriorLOGIC Inc.
