Bucky-N-Booms no longer has the booms.
The party on the shores of Lake Mendota, put on by the Wisconsin Union and the Edgewater, originally had fireworks on the agenda, but no more.
Now, Bucky-N-Booms will be known as Stars, Stripes & Shorelines.
The July 4th event will still provide a family-friendly celebration with free concerts, free art activities and a water ski performance.
Neither The Edgewater nor the Wisconsin Union representatives responded to a question as to why fireworks were cancelled by story publication.
The festival stretches from Memorial Union to The Edgewater Grand Plaza.
